About ACTU
Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) was created 2001 to serve as an extension of ICPC in MDAs to stem the tide of corruption through proper monitoring, reporting and preventing corruption and its enabling agents.
The underlying reason for the establishment of the unit was to complement and strengthen the efforts of the ICPC in the fight against corruption. It is in line with this mandate that the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit of FMC, Ikole-Ekiti came to be.

Our Duties and Services
1. Monitoring and evaluation of budget implementation and procurement processes, with a view to guaranteeing compliance with due process and guidelines.
2. Investigate petitions and corruption claims and make necessary recommendations for action.
3. Ensure transparency in the utilization of government resources.
4.Support deployment of the Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard in line with international best practices, to entrench organisational core values, drive the achievement of institutional mandates and promote effective service delivery.
5. Educate members of staff on the dangers of corruption through enlightenment campaigns, sensitisation and awareness workshops, stickers/posters, T-shirts with inscription of anti-corruption slogans, etc.

Profile
Dr Onjefu Anya Stephen is an experienced and distinguished Consultant General Surgeon with many years of experience both in academia and medical practice.
Educational Background
He holds an MBBS from the University of Ibadan and a Bachelor of Theology in Pastoral Studies from Life Theological Seminary, Ikorodu (Ilorin Campus). He had his Residency at the University Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin-Kwara State.
Membership of Professional Bodies
He is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, Member, Nigerian Medical Association and also a Member of the Medical and Dental Consultant Association of Nigeria.
Work History
Dr Onjefu started his career in 1995 with the defunct National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) as an Occupational Health and Safety Officer. He later proceeded to University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, where he worked as House Officer between 2010 and 2011. He respectively worked as Medical Officer for St. Anne’s Anglican Hospital Ibadan and Yale Food Staff Clinic, Ibadan, from 2011 to 2012.
He enrolled for his residency programme in 2012 at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, and He completed his residency in 2024. In the same year he was employed by PAMO Medical University of Medical Sciences, Portharcourt, Rivers, as Lecturer 1 and an Honorary Consultant General Surgeon, a position he held until his recent appointment as the Head of the Department of Surgery, FMC Ikole-Ekiti.
