The Management of Federal Medical Centre, Ikole-Ekiti, organised a free health check for its staff members on 9th and 10th October 2025, at the hospital facilities.
The programme, which was organised to provide free medical evaluation and healthcare support for staff members, was officially declared open by the Medical Director, Prof. Johnson Dare Ogunlusi.
While giving his opening remarks, Prof. Ogunlusi affirmed that the prioritisation of staff welfare is one of the hospital’s core values, adding that the free healthcare screening is to fill the gap for the pre-employment medical screening that was not done before the absorption of staff.

He further assured the members of staff of the hospital’s resolve to provide all the necessary support systems to enable them to function well in their respective duty posts.
The members of staff were offered free blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks, hepatitis evaluation, among many others. The exercise is aimed at supporting early detection and management of medical conditions that could go unnoticed.
The exercise, which was concluded on 10th October 2025, had 349 members of staff successfully screened, with medical support offered to those who required further medical attention.
