It is with immense joy and gratitude to God that I extend the warm wishes of the season to you and your loved ones.
Christmas is a time for celebration, giving and socialising with family and friends. Beyond the merriment the season represents, it is a time for reflection and appreciation of life, season and time.
It is in view of this that I want to appreciate each and every member of staff for their commitment, hard work and dedication in the pursuit of excellent service delivery in the hospital.
As we recall, the hospital was established when the Ekiti State Government graciously handed the then State Specialist Hospital, Ikole-Ekiti, to the Federal Government of Nigeria on the 5th July, 2024.
As the days go by, we have experienced tremendous growth in leaps and bounds.
From the humble beginning of just two consultants, we have grown to having as many as over 24 consultants. We have also grown in clinical capabilities, performing major clinical operations such as Knee Replacement Surgeries, Spinal Surgeries and many others life saving procedures.
Similarly, the hospital, within this short period of establishment, has secured two major accreditations from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria for the training of House Officers and Intern Nurses. This is a testament to the fact that our collective commitment to the growth of the hospital is yielding positive results.
Thanks to all staff – Clinical, Administrative, Works/Procurement and our supportive stakeholders.
This growth that we have witnessed within a short time would not have been possible without your support and commitment. I am immensely grateful and thankful to have you all as my partners in this journey of providing qualitative healthcare to the people of Ekiti State and Nigeria at large.
To our primary stakeholders, the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Ekiti State Government, I cannot but sincerely appreciate the support and encouragement I have received from you through the Ministry of Health at both the Federal and State levels. Your continuous support and partnership have lubricated the wheels of our progress.
As we look forward to the year ahead, it is my hope and belief that we will witness a transformative and exponential growth in the life of this hospital and individually.
The prospects for the new year look brighter and I look forward to God and partnering with you in taking the hospital to its next level in terms infrastructure, human capacity development and clinical achievements.
Once again, thank you for your service to Federal Medical Centre, Ikole-Ekiti and may Almighty God reward you abundantly.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a promising New Year.
Prof. Johnson Dare Ogunlusi
Medical Director
Federal Medical Centre, Ikole-Ekiti
