The Department of Accounts at Federal Medical Center, Ikole-Ekiti which is the financial hub of the Hospital plays a vital role in ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and efficiency in all financial transactions. Monday – Friday 8am to 4pm for office work while operating all days of the week including weekends & public Holidays for patients related / support services.
Profile
Akinbode Gbenga K., a seasoned chartered accountant with 14 years of post-qualification experience, brings extensive knowledge in financial management and institutional accounting, with close to two decades in the field. He has a strong background in public fund management, financial analysis, budgeting, and auditing. Under his leadership, the department continues to improve efficiency and service delivery.
Education
He had his primary education at St. Paul Catholic Primary School, Ikole-Ekiti, and later proceeded to Ansar-Ud-Deen High School, Ikole-Ekiti, for his secondary education. He thereafter got admission to Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, where he had his National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Financial Studies and Accountancy, respectively. In his quest for further knowledge, he proceeded to Ladoke Akintola University Ogbomoso, where he bagged his degree in accountancy, and thereafter proceeded to Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, for his MSc in accounting.
Professional Membership
He became an Associate Member (ACA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria in the year 2012 and later became a Fellow with the institute in the year 2023; in his quest for further certification, he also became a Member of Associate Chartered Certified System Accountant (ACCSA, USA) in the year 2020.
Work Experience
Akinbode Gbenga worked with Graphael Publishing and Paper Conversion Company, Rail Line, Osogbo, in the year 1999, where he supervised the cashier/production and quality control unit of the company. In 2006, he worked with the Office of the Auditor General for the State in Osun State, where he was a member of a team of auditors to ministries.
Akinbode Gbenga joined the service of the then Federal Medical Centre, Ido-Ekiti, now Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti, in 2008, where he was employed as a higher executive officer. He promotionally rose to the position of Central Pay Officer in the year 2017 in the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti; the position he occupied before his current employment as the Head of Account, Federal Medical Centre, Ikole-Ekiti.
