Works and Service
The department of Works and Services consists of the following units: – Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering and others. The Department is responsible for the design and implementation of infrastructural and physical development plans of the hospital and maintenance and repair of both electrical and mechanical components of new and existing utilities. It also ensures that the facilities and equipment in the hospital are functioning at optimum capacity and in good condition.

- Repair and maintenance of electrical systems

Monday – Friday, 8am to 4pm for some of the Units and 24/7 for others.
Profile
Engr. Nathaniel Folorunso Owoola is an experienced and distinguished engineer and certified procurement professional with many years of experience and achievements in both public service and the private sector.
Education
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Akure; a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from the University of Ado Ekiti (now Ekiti State University); and a Master of Science in Geography and Planning Sciences from Ekiti State University.

Work Experience
He began his career in 1992 as an intern with Ondo State Housing Corporation in Akure, Ondo State. He further honed his engineering skills by getting hands-on experience with Mother-Niger Cat JVC (now Mothercat Nigeria Limited) from 1997 to 1998. While awaiting deployment to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in 1999, he was engaged by Mothercat Nigeria Limited on a Dam construction project in Kaduna as a Pupilage Engineer.
In 1999, he responded to the call to National Service by proceeding to Ituku Awgu L.G.A. in Enugu state on NYSC. He was diligent, committed, and hardworking in the discharge of his duties during his service year. His commitment to service and grit earned him the Enugu State Government Award as the Best National Youth Corps Member of the year 1999.
His journey to public service began in 2001 at Federal Medical Centre, Ido (now Federal Teaching Hospital Ido), where he was employed as Civil Engineer II. He has, through dedication and commitment, risen through the ranks to the position of Chief Civil Engineer in 2015.
Between 2015 and 2018 he had a three-year stint with Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, where his wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience was instrumental in providing strategic leadership and redefining the Physical Planning and Works/Services Departments of the University. During his short stints with Elizade University he was directly responsible to the Vice-Chancellor on day-to day running of all infrastructure and facilities in order to give a conducive and enabling environment for staff and students in the University community.
After completing his assignment with Elizade University, he returned to FMC Ido, where he served as the Director of Procurement until his appointment as the pioneer Acting Head of Procurement, FMC Ikole-Ekiti, in 2024. He has continually deployed his leadership skills and years of experience in improving the infrastructural landscape of the hospital and ensuring optimal and judicious deployment of resources

- Supervised the Procurement and Installation of Offgrid Solar Power Station at FMC, Ikole Ekiti.
- Coordinated the maiden Capital Procurement process for FMC Ikole-Ekiti.
- Supervised the Construction of School of Nursing Complex at Federal Teaching Hospital Ido
- Oversee the Construction of Main Admin Building at Federal Teaching Hospital Ido
- Support the Procurement and Installation of Dialysis Machine, I. C. U and Cardiac Centre’s Equipment at Federal Teaching Hospital Ido.
- Supervised the Construction of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department Complex at Federal Teaching Hospital Ido.
- Coordination of Medium-Term Planning and Annual Budget Proposals at FMC, Ido-Ekiti
